Where do you stand on SGK?

Where do you stand on the whole Susan Komen thing?  I would like your comments.  Please keep it civil or it will be deleted.  We are all women and I would like to know your reason for supporting or not supporting SGK now.  And I don't want to hear bashing of political parties.  That doesn't help anyone.

Personnally, I don't give cash donations to big business type "charities".  I go local with my time, money, etc.  My concern is the big amounts of money that goes to administration, etc instead of to what it is suppose to go to.

Thank you in advance for your comments.  But again, please be civil and no back and forth.  If you want to argue, please take it to your email.  Thanks again.

  1. I never bought something just to suport it or anything like that because there are natural cures that will cure cancer if people are just willing to try them. But aside from that, after I found out that they give part of their donations to planned parenthood, I will no longer buy anything they support. The reason I will not support planned parenthood is because they support abortions. I know in the news it is talking about them dropping planned parenthood, but if you read the statements closely it says that "some" money is being with held, not all. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46263596/ns/health-womens_health/ You would think an organization concerned for women's health would care about the murder of babies also.

  2. I really haven't been following this story...but I've been reading the headlines. So I can't really comment on the details, other than my initial thought is that SGK was somewhat bullied into donating funds to Planned Parenthood. ..again, these are just impressions because I haven't read the stories in depth. I don't donate cash to things like this, because in my humble opinion, I think most of it goes to overhead and not directly to the people it's intended to help. I tend to look at organisations like this as industries...and I feel that the money would be better spent helping women eat healthier/treating their bodies better with better food etc...and then go from there.

  3. Hi there, I just wanted to thank you for dropping by, Amy. I'm so glad my post encouraged you. I agree with the ladies above. Since I can't type much I'll have to settle for that. LOL! Have a lovely day.

  4. I can't support SGK anymore because I do not want my money going towards abortion. My money tends to also go to local charities which I am also able to help out physically as well as monetarily :)

  6. Missy Shay, glad for your comments, they are fully supported by myself as well. More women die of heart and other trouble than breast cancer. Glad to hear you support natural ways for healing as God has made a way for us to be healthy with His foods. In 1985 I was told I would be dead within 6 months, it was listening to God and the OT diet that allows me to still be here. I am still struggling but I am alive Praise the Lord.

  7. I wont support them, as I don't want to support anything or anyone that supports abortions.
Charities that I do support I give to directly and often with goods instead of cash-such as our local pantry. Instead of giving them money I take in a couple cases of food each month. I can go to Aldi and for under $10 get 2 cases of something. Last month I took pancake mix and various canned veggies.
