This weeks Homekeeper's Journal

This week’s Homekeeper’s Journal is about TIME……

In My Winter Kitchen its time to ……….

Bake some bread so my house will smell wonderful and warm.

My biggest Time-Waster seems to be ……..

Looking for things.  I need to organize better.  I waste more time looking for things than I do when I get done the things that I need too.

I do/do not view Time as a gift from God and here is why……

We only have a certain amount of time that is given to use by God.  I want to use mine wisely.  I don't want to waste it being mad or feeling bad.  I want to use it for the plan that God has for me.

When others are slow or dawdle I ………

I get inpatient.  I hate to be late and I think it is very rude to be late.  I try to always be at least 10 minutes early anywhere I go.

One way that I make good use of time in my household is …..

Try to do things on a regular routine.  I am very flexible but like to get things done.  It is hard for me living with family.  So I kind of have to work around her and whims.  She doesn't think of anyone else in the house.

  1. I also get aggrivated by dawdling. I even walk briskly where I go and when I do my household chores I can whip right through them! I think most of us could use to be a bit more organized in some aspect of our lives! Have a great day!

  3. HI Amy, This is a creative post ;) :) I checked out the site, "Heavenly Homemakers" and bookmarked it on my computer. It's just my father and myself...but I thought there would be some good wisdom here that I can use, too :) :) I actually had a difficult time finding my pay stubs the other day. I needed them for some paperwork I was filling out. Eventually I found them all...but right then and there I designated a special spot for things like that, so I wouldn't have to go through the stress of tearing my room apart to find them. I hope you and your family are doing well!! How is the homeschool year going so far? Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  6. Very good post! I too, am an early bird. I like to be 10-5 minutes early. And I manage to do that with six kids. It irks me when people with no kids or a few are habitually late! If I can do it, they can do it. It takes planning and perseverance, so I know it can be done! LOL!

Thanks for all your prayers. Hoping to get the pin removed tomorrow. Maybe it will start feeling better.

Trying to get caught up on my blogging bit by bit. Can't have my foot down too much, so I haven't been able to visit more than one or two blogs a day.

  7. I enjoyed this entry...are you the same Amy that knows Mel from UpNorthWithMel and is going to give her a turkeyleg? Just wondering...
I, too, get impatient, more with myself than anyone else. It saps way too much energy. I love the idea of baking bread to scent the house...there is not a more delightful, homey smell and certainly, not as heavenly a taste than fresh butter melted on a heel.

  8. Thanks for the Epsom Salt tip...I have done that before and completely forgot about it...guess where I'm headed. It is letting up some by tonight. At least I am no longer so nauseous.
Hm, sorry to bug you about the turkey leg...have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Amy,

I enjoyed reading your homekeepers journal in regards to time. I tend to waste time looking for things as well. I think it's just another way for me to let good ole procrastination sneek-in and get the better of me.

At any rate, thank you for following my blog. I am hoping when you come for visits that you will find encouragement as well as a place to share your thoughts without judgement. I try to think of my "humble castle" as a place where ladies can gather and communicate without having to feel fear.

You have a nice blog here as well. I am sure to come again and visit you.

It's been nice "meeting" you Amy. Hope to "see" you around in the future.

    Blessings,

    -Lady Rose
