Thursday Morning

Good Morning.  It is much cooler and breezy here today.  I just got back from walking my mile and a  half.  Only did a mile yesterday because it was so hot and muggy.

Bri got to dress up for a costume night at Awana last night.  She went dressed as "Alice in Wonderland."  She looked so cute.  Especially with tennis shoes on.  LOL

They are having the "Harvest Party" at her school today.  They aren't allowed to dress up.  Silly, but that is the way that it is.

Our church is having a "Fall Festival" on Sunday evening.  Bri is planning on dressing up as Jessie from Toy Story or just a cowgirl.  I am so glad that there is a safe place for her to go and get treats, play games, etc.  I really enjoyed trick or treat as a child, but don't think that it is safe anymore.

George is out washing the truck.  It hasn't rained here in weeks, so everything is so dusty.  We are planning to go to Sam's Club when he is done.

Finished a blanket for Bri's 18 inch dolls last night.  I have started a Spirally Scarf for her for Christmas.  I will get pictures and share it later.  You can go to Ravelry and get this pattern.  It is made by Lisa Gentry.  It is 2.00 for the download.  It is very easy and cute.   Lots of great free patterns and groups there.

If you love Reese's Peaunut Butter Cups, here is one that serves eight.

Easy Peanut Pie

1 8oz pack cream cheese, softened
9 oz peanut butter, chunky or creamy
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
12 oz frozen whipped topping thawed
1 10" prepared graham cracker crust
4 Reese's Reaunut Butter cups chopped up

With electric mixer, mix together cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth.

Add condensed mild and half of whipped topping, reserving some for the top.

Mix well and pour in pie shell.

Top with remaining whipped topping and candy bar pieces.  Put in refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.

I'll leave you with this verse.
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most Hight will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Have a wonderful afternoon.

Tuesday Tales

I put a mile and a half in walking this morning.  I am very proud of myself.  It was hard as it was really muggy this morning.

Bri is counting the hours until her trip this Friday.  She was so mad at me last Friday when I thought that it was the day of the trip.  If looks could kill.  LOL

Got another prayer shawl done.  That makes three in the last few weeks.  I am planning on making a baby blanket for someone in my ladies circle at church.  I want to get my Christmas stuff out of the way first.  I am making an afghan, scarves, and a laptop bag.  So that should keep me busy.

Have a wonderful day.

Monday Meanderings

We got to go to the Downtown Aquarium on Saturday.  I really enjoy this place too.  There is everything from fish and aquatic life to rides and white tigers.  If you are ever in Houston, you must go to the Downtown Aquarium.  It is 15.99 for the all day pass.  That is rides and everything.  We ate at the Underwater Dining Area.  Very nice, but kind of pricey.  Hard Rock Cafe is across the street.  I haven't been there.

Bri is so excited as she is past the 42 inch mark and can ride some of the other rides now.  Look at that grin!!  LOL

Have a wonderful day.  God Bless.

Here is the newest dog that we are looking for a home for.  His name is Billy Buttons.  He is a snoodle.  We think that he is probably a year or so old.

He is a really sweet guy.  He isn't five pounds.  What a face!!!

Tuesday Tales

The top picture is of Bri when they were singing Happy Birthday.  They gave her "wings" to flap during the song.  It was really funny.

We moved Bri back into Kindergarden.  She was having trouble with taking tests and math with no pictures.  I don't think she is emotionally ready for that jump.  So we just put her back.  She is just six.  She can do fractions and money problems and the like.  But I think it is too much for her right now.  She is a fantastic reader, but can't understand the phonics stuff.  So I felt that it would be better to let her finish Kindergarden.  I am in no rush.  I don't believe in pushing too much anyway.

Still working on prayer shawls and scrap afghans.  I am using scrap Red Heart yarn to make a afghan for our bed and one for Bri.  I think I am going to make one for my parents next.  I am using a simple shell pattern.  Very easy and goes pretty fast.  Some people have offered their stash of Red Heart yarn.  So I should have lots to work with.

Have a wonderful day.

Monday Meanderings

This is Bri and her friends feeding the stingrays.  They are so funny.  They come up on the side and flap so you will feed them.  They like to be rubbed too.

I walked a mile this morning.  So I am proud of myself.  I hope to walk five miles this week.

I will leave this for you to think on today.
"Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him."  Proverbs 30:5

What does that mean to you?

A day at Kemah Boardwalk.

We all had a good time.  The weather was beautiful.

We got lots of dog food and cat food to donate to an animal shelter.  The people who work with my SIL donated also.  We will be taking it to the places on Monday or Tuesday.  We picked smaller ones.  They need it more.  This was Bri's birthday wish.  To take food to the homeless pets.  Pretty great wish from a six year old.

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Bri!!

My baby is six today.  I can't believe it.

I remember the first time I saw her cute little face.  Wrapped up like a burrito.  With all this dark, curly hair.  LOL

This is my baby being a Jedi.

Isn't this a riot??  She has got the Star Wars bug.  Her and Daddy love to watch it.

I walked 2 1/2 miles this week.  I am very proud of myself.  I hope to walk 5 miles next week.

We went to Galveston.  I forgot my camera.  Bri ran along the beach and picked up shells.  We went to Rain Forest for lunch.  Then drove back.  We went to Baytown to ToysRUs.  She picked her light saber and a Star Wars set.  I took the other bridge that I had been afraid to go across.  It was nothing.  Funny how you get use to trying things.

We got Bri the Molly American Girl and an extra outfit.  She is really cute.  My sister sent her American Girls magnet playsets and a cowgirl shirt.  My parents sent clothes for her dolls and other things.  So she did pretty good.  We will be spending the day in Kemah tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day.

Tuesday Tales

Good Morning!  I walked a mile today.  I am very proud of myself.  It was so cool and pretty this morning.  We are at 55 degrees.  It is wonderful.

I took some pictures of George's decorating.

We love Halloween about as much as Christmas.  LOL

I can see some difference in Bri's writting.  She is getting a crash course in cursive.  It is a big change to go into first because they don't play around.  They take tests.  So I think that she is kind of wanting to go back now.  Much easier.  But I won't allow her.  I know that she can do it.  She just has to decide to do it now.

Thank you for all the kind comments.  Knowing that people are praying for me helps me so much.

Have a wonderful day!!

Beautiful sunny morning

Good morning!  It is cool, but sunny here this morning.  It is in the 50's.  I followed thru with my plans and walked around the track at the park that is close to Bri's school.  It was hard, as I took a fall yesterday and landed on my hands and knees.  I am sore all over.  But I am determined to keep my goal.  I am hoping to walk the track twice tomorrow.  I am planning on a 1/2 hour walk every morning during the week.

I started my day with breakfast.  Something I usually don't do.  George drinks a Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning.  So that is what I did.  I did it yesterday and my stomach wasn't growling in church.  I skipped the coffee cake too.

We are going thru a difficult issue in our ladies study.  We are trying to bring things from our childhood that wounded us out into the light and be rid of them.  This is hard for me as I was shy and was picked on.  Lots of bad memories.  But I need God's light to shine on them and for me to find the true me that God wants me to be.  I need to carry the Truth, not lies.

I am looking for the beauty in me that God gave me.  That is very hard for me.  Please pray for me.  I am not a very confident person and I don't feel beautiful.  The weight thing doesn't help, but that isn't the only reason.

Have a wonderful day.

Friday Afternoon

I love October.  I always have.  It isn't quite the same here in Texas as it was in Ohio.

Bri's birthday is next week.  She'll be six.  I can't believe it.

I was at the doctor's office today for a check up.  My blood pressure was a little high.  Never had that before.  So now I have to keep an eye on it for a few weeks.

But it has been a bit stressful for me lately.  They moved Bri out of Kindergarden and into first grade.  I worried for her.  She is fine.  She is doing really well and tells me that she likes school even more now.

It hasn't been an easy year since moving here.  Lots of change and stress.  But now I have found a nice church to go to and beginning to find friends and interests.

Please pray for me that I can take control of this.  I need to seriously lose some weight and take care of myself better.  My sister had a massive heart attack at 52.  She is doing ok.

I plan to be around to hold Bri's babies.  I am, after all, only 40.

Have a wonderful day.
